Overview

Overview:

While riders may have tales about the trails, likely everyone present was in awe of the weather. Overnights in the 40s, daytimes in the 70s. Beautiful skies. Enough rain prior to the ride to keep the dust down. Some of the trails were a bit muddy, but were drying as folks rode. Trails rockier than in the past -- Tropical Storm Fred had pulled a lot of topsoil off. Other trails re-routed, and more roadbonded trails now. But riding at Biltmore, again! Many present were just happy with that fact alone. The rain ponchos given away as welcome to the ride clearly had done an outstanding job on getting fine weather.

Knock on wood:
==> No one was injured (that was reported to management);
==> No horses required serious treatment.

Thanks to volunteers, sponsors, BEC, Hope for Horses, volunteer coordinators, food providers, crews, and, especially, riders and horses!!!

Special mention of a nifty double: Mia Moore, a junior, did the 25 on Friday and the 50 on Saturday, looking perky and delighted throughout. Her 50-miile pony seems to be having a good time haming it up, too. Well done!
